How to Add and Remove Avaya Media Gateway in Avaya CM Call Manager 6.3

Adding Media Gateway in CM – Collect Serial number from Media Gateway

1. 1st you need to collect Media Gateway Serial Number from Avaya Media Gateway

2. Login into your AVAYA CM and execute the following command “add media-gateway”

Type: G430

Name: As you want to

Serial Number: Which you collected from Gateway

Encryption: y

Network Region: As you desire

Location: As you desire

Once you are done with above, please login back to Avaya Media Gateway to add CM in Media Gateway

3. Adding CM in Gateway (command in Gateway)

Set mgc list 172.16.0.154(cm ip address) to add media gateway in CM

To save configuration in Media Gateway Copy running-configuration startup-configuration

Then you need to restart your Media Gateway

to do a restart enter the following command “reset”

To confirm if it’s registered enter the following command in Media Gateway

SHOW MGC LIST – to get the list

G350-001 (IF IT IS SHOWING 001 MEANS IT IS ALREADY REGISTERED TO SOME Call Manager (CM)

Unregister Gateway from CM

Clear media gateway from other system command “clear mgc clear”
